The short film "Jamil" tells the fates of two buried people in Syria and a German war photographer preparing for her next assignment.

How I made this film, really worth watching :)

With film and culture volunteers from all over the world, Michele Gentile helped restore a dilapidated cinema in Jenin. The project in the West Bank excited the young director and cinematographer from Tübingen so much that he decided to shoot his first feature film "The Projectionist" there. To this day, it is unclear whether the film can be completed.

"Good Bye Syria" The way out of the old home was stressful and full of dangers. Four Syrian refugees tell a fascinating and disturbing story about their way into a new life. Some come with family and some alone. Overland, with a broken ship, illegal or as quota refugees. "If I had stayed, I would have been killed ..." says Mahmoud. He escaped with 18 years alone to Germany. Now he wants to try to learn the language and finally fulfill his dream of studying. Aghyad (23) and his father Haj Omar (68) have lost loved ones through the intelligence in Syria. Abducted or murdered, so far there is no trace. They came in September 2013 when the first quota refugees came to Germany, but they can hardly get used to a new life... Ali (39) fled with his small family by boat to Italy. He tells us the story of the completely overloaded and broken boat... Still haunted by all their memories of a contested and destroyed Syria, they have partially given up hope for a peaceful and free Syria.
